Maricopa Community Colleges is proud to announce the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) has recognized nine of the system’s 10 colleges for nonpartisan student voter engagement during the 2022 midterm elections. The recognition underscores the system’s commitment to strengthening a culture of civic engagement across its college campuses.

As a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), Chandler Gilbert-Community College (CGCC) is proud to join Maricopa County Colleges in celebrating the role community colleges play in expanding access to higher education for underserved students. In connection with Hispanic Heritage Month, the college is excited to present guest speaker Dr. Irasema Coronado, Professor and Director of the School of Transborder Studies at Arizona State University and Chair of ASU's Advisory Committee on Hispanic-Serving Institutions, for “Beyond Labels: Unpacking the Complexity of Latino Identities.”

In partnership with Miami Dade College (MDC) and Houston Community College, the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), is proud to join the National Applied Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NAAIC), a groundbreaking initiative that aims to foster the growth of technician-level artificial intelligence (AI) professionals across the nation. Led by MDC, the consortium will receive $2.8 million from the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education program to develop and implement technician-level AI courses, certificates, and degree programs.

The Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) is proud to announce the introduction of a new spring cohort for its esteemed Mortuary Science Program, starting in Spring 2025. This marks a significant expansion for the program, which has traditionally admitted one cohort every fall for over two decades.

The Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship Program, which is funded through the American Rescue Act Plan, offers students the opportunity to earn a certificate, a two-year associate degree, a four-year bachelor’s degree, or non-credit training for high-demand, high-wage industries, including Advanced Manufacturing/Semiconductors, Construction Trades, Dental Hygienists/Assistants, Education, Health Care, Information Technology, Paralegal/Legal Assistants, Tractor Trailer Driving, and Veterinary Technology.

CGCC is excited to announce that the application process for the third cohort is now underway, extending to March 31, 2024. Students aspiring to pursue their associate’s degree in engineering and artificial intelligence/machine learning this coming fall 2024 semester are greatly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their college experience through the mentorship, financial scholarship, and professional activities provided by REACH.

Now in its fifth year, the Girls Get IT conference takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Nov. 17, 2023, at Scottsdale Community College, with a goal of introducing high school girls from across the Valley to the many career possibilities in the field of Information Technology (IT).

The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) is proud to announce a partnership with American Medical Response (AMR) to expand the Earn While You Learn program and establish a Paramedicine Employee Sponsorship across the system. This expansion is intended to meet the high-demand workforce needs while offering quality training, flexible scheduling, and hybrid and in-person learning with a seamless enrollment process using the MCCCD Education Concierge Services.

To further promote the expansion of AI programs and workforce development across the nation, MCCCD, in collaboration with Intel and GPEC, is hosting the first-of-its-kind Artificial Intelligence Teaching and Learning Summit. This event will shine a spotlight on Chandler-Gilbert Community College's and Estrella-Mountain Community College's AI programs, showcasing their innovative approaches to AI education.
