Four CGCC Students Named to the 2025 All-Arizona Academic Team

All-AZ Academic Team

Chandler-Gilbert Community College students Skylar Baldwin, Twyla Morrison, Aracely Romero Pimentel, and Hannah White have been named to the 2025 All-Arizona Academic Team.

Students are nominated for the academic team by a review committee of staff and faculty. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and community service. To be selected for the All-Arizona Academic Team, students must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be in good academic standing while working toward an associate’s degree, and be involved in volunteerism and service that extends their education beyond the classroom.

Skylar Baldwin

Skylar Baldwin

Major: Criminal Justice

Transfer Plans and Career Goal: Skylar plans to transfer to Arizona State University to complete a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies and attend a law school. Her career goal is to become an accomplished attorney. 

College/Community Activities: Chandler-Gilbert Community College Student Body President, Suicide Prevention Walk organizer, Feed My Starving Children volunteer, and Fashion Show model

College Honors: 
Associated Students of Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, Presidents’ Honors Scholarship recipient, and Maria L Hesse Scholarship recipient

Twyla Morrison 

Major: Mathematics 

Transfer Plans and Career Goal: Twyla plans to transfer to Arizona State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in data science. Her career goal is to apply machine and deep learning to the field of quantitative finance. She hopes to promote sustainable and ethical practices within the industry that have a positive social and environmental impact.

College/Community Activities: Theta Kappa vice president, youth coding instructor, Collegiate DECA member and Sierra Club volunteer

College Honors: Presidential Honors Scholarship recipient and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Aracely Romero Pimentel

Major: Chemical Engineering 

Transfer Plans and Career Goal: Aracely plans to transfer to the Arizona State University College of Engineering ultimately earning a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree. Her career goal is to work in the sustainability and environmental sector, contributing to the development of a more sustainable future.

College/Community Activities: Society of Women Engineers officer, Hermanas volunteer 

College Honors: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Presidents’ Honors Scholarship recipient

Hannah White

Major: Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering 

Transfer Plans and Career Goal: Hannah plans to transfer to Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, ultimately earning her Masters in Biomedical Engineering. Her career goal is to work at a biomedical company to develop artificial organs or prosthetic devices. 

College/Community Activities:  President of Society of Women Engineers, member of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and intern at the City of Chandler. 

College Honors: President’s List and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
