Hello Coyotes!
On July 1st, I had the honor of joining Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) as the Interim College President. Before my first day, I was experiencing all of the emotions—excited, nervous, curious. How would I learn my way around the Pecos Campus and the Williams Campus? How would I fit into the culture of the college? These were some of the questions that I had—and they are probably similar to questions that you may have as you get ready to begin a new semester. The great news is that CGCC is filled with amazing people—faculty, staff, students, and community members who are here to help, and who live up to our values of Collaboration, Inclusion, Advocacy, and Excellence every day.
So, if you are a new student getting ready to start your first semester, welcome to CGCC. Congratulations on making the decision to continue your education at an outstanding institution. One piece of advice is that if you need help with something along the way, please feel comfortable asking for it—I have already needed help finding different buildings or offices, and have experienced how eager our team is to provide directions or guidance to support anyone who steps onto our campus. CGCC also offers a wide variety of resources that are available to you to support your success.
If you are a returning student, welcome back to CGCC—let’s continue to build on the welcoming and inclusive culture that exists here. Stay focused on your goals and keep doing great things.
I’ll be sending some updates throughout the academic year. I look forward to seeing you on campus and wish you the best as you begin a new semester. Howl Yeah!
