Coyote Athletes have been in the spotlight lately, with exciting news for both current players and alumni in several sports.
Let's start with Coyote Men's Basketball, who just broke into the top 10 – IN THE COUNTRY. You can see the full NJCAA DII Men's Basketball Rankings at https://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/rankings/DII/index. The Coyotes reached their rank after their 20th win last week, and we couldn't be more proud. The Coyote Women's Basketball team is looking pretty good too, recently picking up their 11th win last week, surpassing their total wins from all of last season, with 7 games still left to play.
Coyote Baseball is coming out strong for the start of the season as well. After throwing a no hitter on opening day, the Yotes are already 4-0! With last year only a few innings shy of the Region 1 Championship, this looks to be a promising season.
Next, let's talk about some notable alumni.
Shane Murphy is a left-handed starting pitcher making moves in the MLB Minor League. Originally from Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ, Murphy pitched 3 seasons at CGCC before being drafted in the 14th round of the 2022 MLB June Amateur Draft.
