For the first time ever, Chandler-Gilbert Community College hosted the statewide Arizona Career Development Conference (ACDC) on Saturday, February 26, 2022. This event occurs annually and university and community college DECA chapters from across the state attend. The conference includes many groupwide and breakout sessions focusing on leadership skills and an opportunity to compete among several business categories to attend the International Career Development Conference (ICDC).
Chandler-Gilbert Community college had a record 12 members qualify to attend and compete at ICDC. The members qualified by placing at the Arizona Career Development Conference and meeting a specified standard. Not only is 12 a record for CGCC, but it was the greatest number of qualifiers from any one university or college at the conference. The International Career Development Conference will be held from April 8 – 13 in Baltimore, Maryland, where qualified students will learn and compete in case studies against college and university chapters from across the nation.
