Welcome to Dual Enrollment at Chandler-Gilbert Community College
We are excited to have you as a Chandler-Gilbert Community Colleges Dual Enrollment student. Dual Enrollment provides high school students the opportunity to earn community college credits while still in high school. Students must meet college readiness, course placement prerequisites, complete all the admissions and registration steps, and pay tuition and fees to receive dual enrollment credit. For new first-time and returning Dual Enrollment students, see the steps below to help you get started.
- CGCC partners Chandler Unified School District, Gilbert Public Schools, Higley Unified School District, Queen Creek Unified School District, East Valley Institute of Technology and Charter and Private Schools.
- Courses are taught on high school campuses by college-approved high school teachers.
- Use your dual enrollment credits towards a degree or certificate.

Step 1
- Create a student account. (Do not create multiple accounts)
- Select Chandler-Gilbert Community College as your primary college.
- When you finish your application, you will receive:
- MEID and password (example: ABC1234567)
- Student ID number (example: 33333333)
- Maricopa email (example: ABC1234567@maricopa.edu)
- Do not exit the page after submitting the application. Scroll down on the application page to complete “Next Steps”. If you do not see those options, check your email for your MEID if you have not written it down. After retrieving your MEID, proceed to Step 3, “Complete the Dual Enrollment Next Steps Forms”.
Step 2
Set up Duo Two-Factor Authentication
Duo is Maricopa Community Colleges’ two-factor authentication service, providing an extra layer of security to protect against hackers, cyber threats, and any unauthorized access to sensitive data.
- Download the Duo Mobile app from Apple or Google Play store.
- Go to the Duo website to learn more options if not using a smartphone.
- Follow the Duo Mobile set-up instructions. Your student email account (MEID@maricopa.edu) is required.
- Add your phone number.
- Choose your device:
- iPhone or Android Smartphone (more secure and recommended option)
- iPad or Tablet (next best option)
- Traditional cell phone
- Landline
- Log in to a Maricopa Community Colleges system.
- Start using Duo two-factor authentication when prompted through your device choice.
Step 3
Complete the Dual Enrollment Next Steps Form
Fall 2024 Dual Enrollment Registration is Closed
Deadline to complete your Dual Enrollment Next Steps Forms for Spring: February 7, 2025
- Select Chandler-Gilbert Community College as your primary college.
- Upload acceptable forms of IDs for identification authentication, as well as lawful presence.
- Determine college readiness and course placement.
- Students must meet college admissions, placement and prerequisites needed for enrollment and provide proof of documentation.
- In order to get admitted and register for courses students will be required to submit a self-reported, unweighted, cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or greater. Students unable to self-report a high school GPA of a 2.0 will take the EdReady College Reading assessment with a recommended score of 75 or higher. This policy will not impact placement requirements for individual course(s).
- If you are unable to upload your unofficial high school transcripts into your next steps forms, email your unofficial transcripts to dualenrollment@cgc.edu with your MEID.
Admissions:
- Admissions: 9th Grade
- Completion of the College Reading EdReady Placement Test (Score of 75 is recommended).
- Completion of the College Reading EdReady Placement Test (Score of 75 is recommended).
- Admissions: 10th Grade
- High School, self-reported, unweighted, cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or greater. Email your unofficial high school transcripts, with your MEID, to dualenrollment@cgc.edu. OR
- Completion of the College Reading EdReady Placement Test (Score of 75 is recommended).
- Admissions: 11th - 12th Grade
- High School, self-reported, unweighted, cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or greater.
Placement and Prerequisites: 9th - 12th Grade
- For courses with prerequisites, view your high school class list for the high school you are attending.
- Select Dual Enrollment Courses next to your current high school.
- Review Admissions, Placement or Prerequisites Needed (Column F).
- Complete all Admissions, Placement or Prerequisites needed for each selected dual enrollment course.
- EdReady Placement Student Guide
Please allow 10 business days (Monday – Friday) to verify and review your Dual Enrollment Next Steps Forms before completing Step 4, “Register for Classes”.
Dual enrollment will process your next steps forms and send an email to the emails you provided letting you know if any documents or prerequisites are missing.
- If no additional documents are required, you will receive an email stating you are ready to self-enroll into your dual enrollment classes.
- Dual enrollment will contact you, via email, if any additional documents or prerequisites are missing.
- Email dualenrollment@cgc.edu, with your MEID, if you are unable to self-enroll for enrollment assistance.
Step 4
- Once you’ve received an email approval to self-register, visit Student Tools and click on Add a Class.
- Log in using your MEID@maricopa.edu (example: ABC1234567@maricopa.edu) and your password.
- Select Chandler-Gilbert Community College and the term for which you are registering.
- In the search bar, enter the 5-digit class section number and click enter. Use the enter key or click the arrow button to the right.
- Verify the class is the one you want. Click the blue hyperlink to see details, for example, time and location, prerequisites, and more. If everything looks correct, click anywhere on the class row or the arrow on the far right.
- Click Enroll or Add to Shopping Cart to the Class Selected and click Submit.
- To add more classes, click Class Search and Enroll page link and repeat the steps as needed.
If you are unable to self-register for your class, email Chandler-Gilbert Community Colleges Dual Enrollment office at dualenrollment@cgc.edu to further assist you.
Step 5
To pay online:
- You can pay tuition, or sign up for the payment plan using Student Tools and click on View Charges or Make a Payment.
- Click Select View Payment Options.
Tuition assistance is available from the Maricopa Tuition Assistance Grant for those who qualify. Chandler-Gilbert Community College may fund up to 6 credits per year. To qualify for tuition assistance, students must be both enrolled at CGCC and have a dual enrollment tuition assistance application approved. Funds are awarded on a first come first served basis or until exhausted.
Tuition must be paid (either in full or by setting up a payment plan) by 6 p.m. the day the student enrolls in classes. Additional information is available in the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Refund Policy. If payment isn’t made, the student may be dropped from their classes without notice. If a student decides they do not want to attend a class they are enrolled in they are to adhere to the Maricopa County Community College Refund Policy.
